Pirate Nation

After a mid season loosing streak, our poor little Pirates ended up in 4th place (out of 5 teams). They really picked up the pace towards the end of the season and played some really dynamic games, but it was all just a little too late. Last night their hard work finally paid off. It was round two of the end of season tournament and the Pirates beat the first place Blue Jays, earning themselves a spot in the final Championship game on Saturday. I can't tell you how excited these boys were last night. We are so excited for them!
The bad part of this game was having to play the Blue Jays. Ryley's "brother" Caleb plays on this team so it was sad to have to have a winner and a loser. They both made great plays during the game and really played their hearts out (notice all of the dirt on their uniforms). In our heads we are both winners. The Blue Jays and the Pirates faced off a total of 4 times. Blue Jays won 1, Pirates 1 and 2 ties. Our games against each other were always the most exciting and intense. Thanks Caleb for being such a great rival for us this season.

We're also going to miss Emily (the girl in the glasses). This is Ryley's "friend" who's twin brother played for the Jays. Each time we faced off she said she wanted us to lose, but always ended up on our side....we even got her to put on a Pirates hat once.
The final Tournament game will take place on Saturday and we can't wait. Ryley is going to be facing off against the Cubs....playing one of his other buddies Joseph. Good luck Pirates....we can't wait!

We love all the Putman's even if Ryley beats us in baseball! We've had a great season no matter what happened! So we are getting out of the Blue Jay mode, and switching to Pirate mode. Go Pirates we are pulling for you!

Jill, your kids are adorable! Some of my favorite memories were at the baseball diamonds in TX. You could totally do the 10k. Running is more mental than physical. Just take it slow. Depending on your pace it takes just around an hour (it took me longer, I was taking my sweet time). Being in a race is different than just going out and doing 6.2 by yourself. There are other people around and it's just more exciting. If you decide to do it, let me know how it goes!
